FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE: STOP NYRI Topple the Towers RALLY IN SHERBURNE

Madison and Chenango counties - The NYRI high voltage powerline is back and STOP NYRI wants your help in giving the project the heave-ho! As we enter our third year of opposition we call on the residents of Madison and Chenango counties to renew their efforts against this enemy of farms, families, business, and affordable electricity.

Join STOP NYRI for a Leap Day Topple the Towers rally on Friday, February 29th at 7:30 p.m. in the Sherburne Earlville High School Cafeteria. Make a night of it and support Sherburne's anti-NYRI effort by dining at Gilligans, Joe and Vinny's Pizzeria, and Lewis’ Restaurant. Mention STOP NYRI when you dine on Leap Day and inspire these eateries to make a donation and help us stop the powerline project.

The one-hour meeting will offer updates on the proposed new routes and the application process with the Public Service Commission. Results of our exciting historical designation work will be revealed. Ken Johnson, Earlville resident with extensive engineering expertise, will detail how the proposed high voltage power line project is unnecessary, unwise, and unfair.

We will even have anti NYRI music from local folk singer Pamme Swan and refreshments for a post meeting “meet and greet” time. Join the STOP NYRI coalition at the rally and see how together we can save our beautiful hills and valleys as well as the communities of the hardworking folks who live here.
